FYI ~ for all the Cath-o-lics
Via the Washington Post, our Friday Lenten abstention from meat has been lifted in light of St. Patrick's feast day. The catch: you've gotta abstain from beer instead! Just kidding....really, Catholics are merely asked to abstain from meat during another day of the week. I didn't have any yesterday, so I'm cool.
You know, one of the things I really love about Catholicism is its solidarity with human experience. It celebrates life, embraces the inevitable suffering that comes along the way (and transforms it into something redemptive) and gives meaning even to death with the hope of eternity. It gives man the framework to live fully.
That's all for now. Cheers.

Amen sister.

As St. Ireneaus said, "the Glory of God is man fully alive!" In light of that, I'm looking forward to celebrating at your place on Friday!
